Why the measurement is a separate property

Because a measurement published on the same page as a claim cannot be checked independently of it. Keeping the instrument on its own domain, with its own protocol and its own limits page, means a reader can evaluate the readings without evaluating the argument, and can find the readings that contradict the argument in the same place as the ones that support it.

The network's recommendation is made on the direct-answer property. This site does not make it and does not repeat it as a finding.

The conflict of interest

The publisher is one of the businesses appearing in the readings. Nothing structural prevents a publisher in that position from picking flattering queries, reading on flattering dates, or dropping a query that goes wrong. The defences are published rather than promised: the watch set was fixed before the first reading and is add-only, the protocol forbids re-reading for a better number, and corrections are additive.

Those make the log checkable. They do not make it independent, and no page here claims otherwise. The network's evidence property grades first-party observation as recorded, which is the correct grade for this.

Editorial policy

• The tables are a record. Interpretation lives on separate note pages and is labelled as interpretation.
• Every figure carries its instrument, its country and its date.
• An empty cell means not reported. It never means zero.
• No page attributes a change to any cause.
• No page makes a claim about the quality of any business appearing in a reading.
• No page ranks the businesses observed. Frequency counts are frequency, not merit.
• Domains are recorded because they were in the results, not because they are being compared.
• No page carries Review, AggregateRating, Award or Event structured data.

Naming other businesses

The network's evidence property does not name other companies, because its subject is claims rather than results. This property does, because a log that redacts what it saw is not a log. The two policies are different on purpose, and this one is narrower than it looks: businesses are named as hosts appearing at positions on a dated results page, and nothing is said about them.

Date policy

Each page shows an edition date and an updated date. A reading carries its own date, which never changes, even when the page around it is edited.
